"Look carefully; record what you see.
Find a way to make beauty necessary;
find a way to make necessity beautiful."
- Anne Michaels
I've been painting since high school, when I first learned about color, composition and contrast from my teacher Walt Bartman. For me paintings are like puzzles to be solved and those three components - color, composition and contrast - keep me plugging away!
I sell original and commissioned oil paintings, exhibit my work at local businesses and lead painting classes for children and adults. You can find me painting and teaching at the Pigs Alley Gallery, named for the street in Fairmount where I once lived.
The Pigs Alley Gallery is open by appointment. Email maura@pigsalley.com to arrange a visit.
My work is also on view:
Thank you for taking the time to view my original oil paintings, vibrant and textured thanks to the palette knife I use. If you are interested in learning more about my work, please contact me: maura@pigsalley.com
